Index Finger keep pointing at people...

MooMoo went to see doctor on her swelling Index Finger today and doctor decided to send her to x-ray her finger. Feels funny to go and x-ray just the finger.

Doc: What happen?

Me: My finger is swollen and cannot bend... (*point the swollen finger up...)

Doc: OMG! IT looks badly swollen... Did you hurt it?

Me: Err... I don't remember if anything happened to it. Just started last night round 7-8pm. Is it Gout? My friends tell me it might be Gout.

Doc: Not impossible coz it looks red and swollen outside, but it's very unlikely... very seldom happen to ladies and rarely attacking 'Index Finger'... usually thumb or toe-thumb. (*use torchlight shine-shine at my finger... touch, touch and press, press softly at it...)

Me: How do I know if it's not Gout?!?

Doc: Did you eat too much meat lately? Don't drink enough water? Exercise excessively? Sweat too much?

Me: Hmm... like usual lo... (*think to herself... eat lots of meat, didn't drink enough and exercise as well as sweat excessively all the time wor... so like normal lo... LOL)

Doc: Will give you some medicine and send your finger for x-ray.

Me: Har?!? So serious meh... need to go x-ray?

Doc: It's your Index Finger. Is it not important? Do you want to lose it?

Me: Err... Yeah.... OK. (*wish can take the finger off and let him send it to x-ray...)

Ended up, MooMoo have to bring her finger to go x-ray tomorrow.... Today, finger slightly better... can bend little but still pain and bit swollen.

* Lucky is not the 3rd finger that is injured and cannot bend... if not, MooMoo cannot imagine what will happen if she keep pointing her 3rd finger at people. LOL!! =p

Essential Korean Lego Blocks

MooMoo think that it is rather important to learn some Basic Korean for Survival in Kimchi-Land if you are not following tour and go around adventure on your own. Here's some easy useful phrases to pick up.

(1) Hello! - An-yŏng-ha-se-yo. 안녕하세요

(2) Goodbye! - An-nyŏng-hi ga-se-yo! / An-nyŏng-hi ge-se-yo! *2 안녕히 가세요! /or/ 안녕히 계세요!

(3) Thank you (very much)! - (Nŏ-mu) kam-sa-ham-ni-da! (너무) 감사합니다!

(4) You're welcome. - A-ni-e-yo. 아니에요. (for Thank you)

(5) Excuse me. (for asking something) - Shil-le-ji-man… 실례지만…

MooMoo noticed that when you speak a little Korean, the Korean seem to be happier and friendlier to you, even if you speak the slightest, simple "Annyeong Haseyo!" or "Kamsahamnida!" It would be even greater if you are able to read some of the Lego Blocks but MooMoo finds that it is not that easy to pick up the Art of the Lego Blocks. MooMoo is quite interested to pick up Korean, when she is free, which is like dunno when. Hahaha.

* MooMoo is always mistaken as Korean... maybe due to her BIG face and small eyes. Hahaha!!! The Koreans always start speaking to MooMoo in Korean till MooMoo give them the BLUR look, then thy will suddenly say sorry and kept quiet. Funny...

Missed 'Yellow Ribbon Run 2011'...

MooMoo prepared everything last night but ended up didn't go for her 'Yellow Ribbon Run' this morning.... = (( Maybe, she's just too tired... woke up but snooze a little more till over-time.

MooMoo even stringed the 'yellow shoe laces' already, though the colour does not match.

* MooMoo's next run will be in Dec - Standard Chartered Half Marathon. One last run of the year as MooMoo don't intend to sign up any more this year.

Things that MooMoo Learnt at Kimchi-Land...

Things that MooMoo Learnt at Kimchi-Land...

(1) Must learn some Basic Korean for survival as very little Korean speaks English or Chinese, even at the tourist information counters. You can find more Korean speaking in Japanese than in English.

(2) Ignore the rudeness of people there as it is their culture. People there just bump or knock into you without any feeling, don't bother to stop and say sorry.

(3) If you're not interested to buy anything, please do not touch or don't even try to ask fo the price and bargain. Else, you will definitely get some scoldings. Even when you start checking on the goods you're buying, you will get 'unfriendly stares' and 'roll eyes'.

(4) People are talking or discussing but not quarrelling - they are only LOUD. LOL!

(5) Take pictures of the common food that you like to make your life easier when ordering food as most of the menus are in Korean without any pictures and English translation.

(6) It is wise to have names of the places you want to go, written on a piece of paper in Korean. It will be useful when you need to take public transport coz you can just flash them the note.

(7) Coffee Shops is everywhere on the streets. You can have access to Coffee anywhere at anytime. Sometimes, you can even find more than 3 Coffee Shops along the same street or next to each other. i.e. Starbucks, Coffine Gurunaru, Cafe Bene, Think Coffee, etc.

(8) Most of the eateries provide free plain water so you do not necessarily order any drinks when you order your food. Therefore, you can save some $$$ on drinks.

(9) Jeju-Island used to be Korean's Top Favourite destination for honeymoon as it is near and cost-saving. It is indeed a beautiful place to spend your holidays.

(10) Every single Korean dish will definitely comes with Kimchi and you can always top up the Kimchi and the rest of the small side dishes. Last time, MooMoo used to hate Kimchi... she can't recall when she started to get used to the dish and quite like it now. Weird huh?!? Haha.

* Each country always have their own unique culture and it is pretty interesting to learn all different cultures when you visit different countries. That reminds MooMoo of the culture in her company, which she is still trying to adapt after 4 years. LOL!!! At least, MooMoo is surviving very well. Anyway, things are starting to change due to her new CEO... starting a new Evolution culture. For better or worse, MooMoo will see... ^=^

The Tasting Room

Last Tuesday, MooMoo went to meet up her dance mates for dinner at this place called "THE TASTING ROOM" at Marina Square, #01-08. One of her dance mate came across this review at "Hungry Go Where" website and decided to check out this place.

This is how the place looked like from one side. It looks good huh... but the other side just does not match coz they didn't paint the wall. Guess that's why they only show one part of the restaurant in the website as the other side is quite a turn-off. If you visit the place, you will get what MooMoo meant... LOL!!

The menu looks pretty interesting... they have 50 unique and interesting selection of wine by the glass to match each different main meals you chose to have. MooMoo personally thinks that if you're a wine lover, maybe you like the place but MooMoo is not really a wine lover.

Each ordered a different main meal and MooMoo ordered the Seabass with Basil Infused Lime Reduction. The food is not bad but MooMoo didn't order wine to go with it.

MooMoo knows nothing much about wine when her dance mates start talking about the color, smell and taste. i.e. wine with body, wine with after-taste, dry or sweet, with balance, etc. MooMoo will never be able to tell which is good or bad wine unless it's really different.

MooMoo took the set meal so they will start you off with either Soup of the day or Salad of the day. The Salami Salad tasted quite good.

This is one of the main dish that my dance mate ordered, which is the recommended 'Duck Confit'. She ordered wine to go with it.

This is the recommended 'Rib-Eye Steak' ordered by another dance mate to go with wine.

This is how MooMoo's Seabass looked like. It's quite Yummy and the portion is quite big or just nice for MooMoo's big appetite. Hahaha.

And lastly, the set meal comes with either 'Ice Cream' or 'Soft Drink'. The ice cream portion is really small and MooMoo didn't really like the Ice Cream. It's honey with fig flavour. Guess it's just personal preferences coz MooMoo just dislike the taste. MooMoo not very satisfied with her finishing dessert. =p

Overall, MooMoo gives it a 3 out of 5 only for food and ambience. MooMoo would not mind going back to the place as the food is quite OK but she would not purposely go all the way to Marina Square for the food. MooMoo spent about $30 for dinner there.

Maybe it's unfair for MooMoo to comment overall including the wine coz she didn't drink the wine there. They have choices of different types of wine for you to match with your Main Course. In addition to that, the house pours of wine is quite cheap. So, maybe those wine lovers would love this place. ^=^

MAD Week

This week MooMoo's company is having "MAD Week". MAD = Make A Difference. Company is trying to build a culture for staff to "Make A Difference" and go MAD everyday. I'm not sure if staff will really "Make A Difference" everyday after the campaign but definitely some are really seriously MAD.

Each day of the "MAD Week", the company organised different activities, i.e. Badges Day - awarding your colleagues with Appreciation Badges, Desserts Day - big bosses serving you desserts during lunch time, Nomination Day - where you can nominate your fellow colleagues and win $$$ vouchers and Fruits Day.

Today is the last day of "MAD Week" and it's Fruits Day. MooMoo got herself a big Pear, Orange, Peach and Prune.

Here's the badges to be given out... MooMoo received the "WONDER WOMAN@Work" badge from her colleague. Hahaha... It should be "MAD WONDER WOMAN".

TLC Supper Treat

After long and exhausting 6 hours++ flight from Lion City to Kimchi-Land and about 1 hour taxi ride from Incheon International Airport to Somerset Palace at Jong-No, where Piggy stays in Seoul... MooMoo and Minnie is welcomed with a nice, hot, TLC Supper treat.

* It's real amazing... eating with Piggy that night in Kimchi-land when just the night before, MooMoo was just eating with Mr. and Mrs. Chicky in Lion City. So far and yet so near... Hehe...

Why KIMCHI-LAND?!?

MooMoo needed a place to get away from 'REALITY' and initially she could not decide where. She had short-listed a few places like Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and China but ended up going to Kimchi-Land instead. In case, if you're wondering where's Kimchi-Land, it's Korea and it is South Korea and not North Korea.

Why Kimchi-Land? ... when MooMoo...

- is lousy in Korean

- do not fancy Korean Food

- been there once before with parents by tour (as usually MooMoo will not keep visiting the same place over and over...)

Reason it's Kimchi-Land Coz...

- Piggy is temporarily posted for Project in Kimchi-Land. Thanks to Piggy, MooMoo have free accommodation and great hospitability.

- MooMoo never been to Jeju-Island before so will take this chance to go there.

- Kill 2 birds with 1 stone... visit Piggy and have a break there at the same time.

- MooMoo loves to watch Korean drama - who knows can meet Superstars there. LOL...

- MooMoo's gym buddy 'Minnie' never been there before.

After all the considerations, MooMoo and Minnie headed off to Kimchi-Land for about 1 week. MooMoo loves the quote on her T-shirt that says, "Let's Find a Beautiful Place and Get Lost..."
