The Child's Eye

MooMoo went to watch 'The Child's Eye' at Cineleisure, Orchard on yesterday (19th Oct 2010). MooMoo almost went to watch alone as she can't find anyone who are willing to watch the horror movie with her. In the end, MooMoo found a friend to go with her. Piggy must be jumping happily that she does not have to go watch with MooMoo and suffer with fear as she's now in Taiwan for holidays.

This movie is about 3 couples going to Thailand for a holiday and it was during the time when there was riot there. Due to the commotion, they decided to check out of their hotel and rushed to the airport, to fly back to Hong Kong but it was too late as the airport had closed down. Eventually, they have to bunk in at an old, shabby hostel. This is where all the spooky stories began. It started with them meeting 3 kids with 1 dog at the hostel, always starring at them at a weird manner... and that's when all the weird things started to happen.

All the guys started to disappear and when the girls start their adventure to look for them, they encounter all sorts of weird incidents. In the end, they found out that the hostel's boss had once accidentally killed his wife and he had a child with the head of a dog and a body of a human, whom he locked up in the attic. His pregnant wife had given birth to deformed twins (half dog-half human) due to her killing all the dogs in one night during her pregnancy.

She had killed all the stray dogs that her hubby kept as she can't stand them barking non-stop when she's taking her nap. After giving birth to the deformed twins, the wife went crazy and ended up killing one of the twins. When the hubby tried to protect the other twin, he had accidentally killed her instead. From then on, the hostel is haunted with the ghost of the wife and he had tried his best to keep his son as a secret.

Overall, this movie is not that scary but the storyline is there. At the beginning of the story, it was pretty spooky but towards the middle, everything was just so predictable and not that scary anymore. The ending was a bit hanging though. I'm not even sure why the movie is called 'The Child's Eye'.

Raine Yang is the main actress in the movie. MooMoo was telling Piggy that the story will not be that scary with such a cute girl starring inside. Hahaha...

Anyway, I would give 2.5 stars out of 5 stars for this movie. I think I prefer the previous 2 shows on 'The Eye', starring Lee Xin Jie and Hsu Chi.
