2012 Singapore Passion Run 9km Race Results

This year, MooMoo did the 9km evening sunset run for Passion Run.  It was just last Saturday (10th November 2012), which is just 1 day before Great Eastern Women Run.

MooMoo have not been running and training for quite awhile but lucky she still goes to gym once awhile to workout in her favourite STEP class.  It was quite a nice evening run, despite MooMoo just recovering from her sorethroat and flu.

The whole East Coast Park was flooded with bright orange people.  Haha!  MooMoo's friend, Kitty Cat accompanied her to this evening race.  Actually MooMoo signed up this race quite sometime ago and she wanted to join the race just for the puzzle certificate.  :p
Anyway, MooMoo is rewarded with a nice, customised medal for women and 9km.  It is a paperweight this year, instead of a medal.
MooMoo just checked her race results online.  It is not that bad after all, since not much training.  MooMoo's target of doing 10km in 60 mins is still a long way to go.  Hahahaha.

Passion Run
Date: 10/11/2012
Distance: 9km

Confront your FEARS

So easy to say,
So difficult to do.
But until you face your fears,
you're always looking back.
You're a diminished version of yourself.
Do it by degrees,
do it with the help of others,
but stare down your fears,
Watch yourself grow as the fears shrink.

"I'm never afraid of what I know." --- Anna Sewell

- From the "BE HAPPY" book -

* MooMoo had a GREAT workout today doing 2 special STEP classes for Deepavali holidays.  ^=^  It was Duo Step and Multi Step.  Her aching legs felt better today.  Not a good idea to do 9km on Sat evening and 21km on Sun morning, back to back, without any training. :p

Forgive and Forget

MooMoo did something out of the norm today.  It is really something that MooMoo also could not imagine that she did that.  Anyway, it had been 2 years+ and after much thinking, MooMoo decided to just sort things out and move on.  At one time, MooMoo thought she can just forget about it, ignore it and just move on but she is wrong, as it does still bother her sometimes.

It is always not easy to forgive and forget.  Sometimes we says that we forgive and forget but deep inside we still hold a grudge and it still makes us unhappy when it pops up in our mind.  When one actually decides to forgive and forget, there is no point to further find faults with each other and decide who is right and who is wrong.  It is no longer important.

MooMoo felt a relief after talking things through and it was not that bad after all.  It was better than what MooMoo expected.  Thank God for the courage and everything! ^=^

Guess sometimes throughout life, certain things, events and people comes into our lives and teaches us different things, as well as provide us different experiences, which will make us grow.  Sometimes we learn things the hard way.  Anyway, everyday is a learning experience, till the day we have our last breathe.  Maybe up till then, we still continue to learn in another world.  Haha!

* It is always easier to be a BAD guy than to be a GOOD one... not easy to be a forgiving person... but never give up to walk in GOD's way... in order to take the easy way out... some nice quotes to ponder on... ^=^

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”
― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

MooMoo 1st Skechers

MooMoo's favourite Nike is in coma now.  She haven't go revive it at the cobbler.  This is MooMoo's new shoes for now.  It's a gift from MooMoo's dad.

Well, MooMoo didn't buy this shoes because of her favourite Sammi Cheng.  Hahaha!  She bought it after reading about it on the Shape magazine and the colours look good.

This particular shoes is very light and it encourages mid foot strike, avoiding the heel strike, which is supposingly good for running as it help saves energy.  Not sure how true is that as MooMoo find that it does not have much support.  Maybe it's because MooMoo is not used to lightweight shoes without much cushioning.  It really felt like barefooted.

So far MooMoo had been gym-ing with it.... ran 9km and 21km with it.  So far so good but MooMoo thinks that she needs another good pair for gym, especially for her favourite STEP class.  Hahaha.

* MooMoo wonder how many shoes can one woman have?!?  Think majority of them have lots of heels and pumps but MooMoo have more sport shoes... kekeke... :p

Nail Spa for MooMoo

MooMoo went a manicure and pedicure with "Minnie Mouse" to pamper herself.  Guess she went a bit too early that the manicure could not last till the wedding dinner she had to attend 1 week later.  Hahaha!  In the end, MooMoo had to do the manicure herself once more before the wedding dinner.
It's nice to do it once awhile but not too often as it is not cheap.  MooMoo love to do all these painting of nails but not on herself.  She prefers to do it for others.  MooMoo used to paint Piggy's nails but too bad she is so far away now.  Cutie Pie likes all these mani and pedi too.  Everytime she sees MooMoo's painted nails, she would say,"Kuku, I want colours."  Hahaha!
The painted toe nails looks like yummy candies.  The colours on the toe nails lasted longer than the ones on the finger nails.  It is still there after coming to a month.
The nail saloon have all types of design.  Some are so cute!  They even have bunny design as well as the cow design.  Maybe MooMoo should do the cow designs on all her 10 fingers.  LOL!

* Every now and then, we should take some time to pamper ourselves.  It can be anything and it can be something free as well.  Sometimes, pampering yourself can just merely means taking some time off to relax yourself away from all those stressful stuff.  It works wonder.  Go ahead and take some time to pamper yourself! ^=^

MooMoo's Birthday ^=^ 1710

A belated post on MooMoo's birthday.  This year MooMoo had a great birthday spent with family and good friends.  Just that this year, missing one usual belated wish from my dear brother.  Anyway, I'm sure he's up there in heaven wishing me well.

This year, MooMoo's parents and Cutie Pie were in Lion City to celebrate MooMoo's birthday.  MooMoo were showered with lots of well wishes, great gifts and companies.

Thanks to everyone for all the warm wishes, gifts from near and afar and the time spent with MooMoo. MooMoo's most expensive gift would be from her parents, which is an iPad.  It had been a be-early birthday present which MooMoo got it about 6 months before her birthday.  Haha.

MooMoo even got it engraved with a quote behind. "Live every moment, Laugh everyday, Love beyond words."
MooMoo didn't take picture of all the gifts that she received but here's some of it.  Noticed that this year, MooMoo got lots of GREEN stuff, instead of her usual favourite Purple.  Well, not that bad... something for a change.  MooMoo like every single gift as it all comes with good thoughts. ^=^
Here's gift from down under, from Piggy and Tapir.  Hmm... Li'l Miss Naughty?!?  But MooMoo is a good girl wor... Haha!  Just realised this year MooMoo got a lot of motivational books.  Guess it's a year that MooMoo need to constantly motivate herself to keep things going.  Well, no doubt MooMoo loves reading all those inspirational and motivational books.  MooMoo recall this saying, "Motivation is like taking a shower daily", which she finds it quite true.  :p
MooMoo even got some prayer books as gifts from her cell group AP-Accountable Partner, which she has yet to use them.  Oops...guilty as charge... really gotta work harder on her prayer life.  At least, she is working towards it, with progress though a bit slow.  Ganbatte!!!  ^=^

Climb & Run

Today, MooMoo did not do her usual Step class but instead went for a Climb and Run at the gym.  It had been 2 months++ since her last run and she realised that she has 2 running events coming up on the 10th and 11th November.  OMG!!! It's 9km and 21km back to back and she has not done any training at all.  Hope she survives and not too late to condition her legs a bit.  LOL! :p

At least, there's some progress today.  MooMoo climbed 45 floors and ran 4.5km.  Now, MooMoo is dead tired.  Maybe MooMoo should try running 5km everyday and see what's the results at the end of the month.  ^=^

* One more day to go... and MooMoo will fly back to Cat City for a friend's wedding.  It will be so nice to meet up with some old friends again after many years.  Eat good food time again... :p

Prayers

It's been quite some time since MooMoo diligently goes to mass every week and praying daily consistently.  Since MooMoo have decided to start a new journey of faith with God, she will need to work towards it.  Nothing will come with no effort at all, as it takes both sides to make things work.

Last Sunday morning, MooMoo actually made an effort to wake up for Sunday morning mass.  Hope this will be a consistent routine from now on.  MooMoo's cell group buddies actually buzzed her to remind her on the mass.  Well, she must work towards going on her own without having to be reminded.  But, sometimes it is always good that your buddies gives you a nudge or a push or two just to encourage you to go further, especially when the going gets tough.

MooMoo have bought herself some stuff while at the church bookshop, as she reached a bit earlier.  MooMoo bought a crucifix to stick at her bedside for prayers.
MooMoo have also bought herself a simple prayer book and a rosary prayer book.  The little rosary does not come with it.  Haha.
MooMoo wanted to buy the Daily Gospel prayer book for year 2013 but they do not have it.  Her friend actually gave her a copy from year 2009 for reference.  MooMoo will try to get it when she's back in KL churches.  Guess nowdays, MooMoo can also actually download all these prayer apps in her iPhone but she still like the feeling of reading the actual book instead of online.  Hahaha.
Payers does work wonder.  It could keep one peace at heart.  A prayer a day keeps the devil away?!?  Hahaha.  It is always good to consistently pray everyday but it does take a lot of commitment as well.  Well, if MooMoo can diligently go to gym almost everyday, there's no excuse or reason to say that she can't schedule some prayer time each day.  It is like God is your family member and you need to spare some time for him and not only spend time with him when you have spare time.
The praying bears are so cute!  The one in white is a birthday gift from a friend while the one in pink, MooMoo just bought on Sunday, as it came with the little rosary in the hands.  Praying together is a great thing, where you can share with each other and keep each other on track.

May God bless MooMoo and help her persevere in her journey of faith with daily consistent prayers.

* Some prayer quotes that MooMoo like...

“Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.” ― Mother Teresa

“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one” ― Bruce Lee

Starting a New Journey of Faith

Guess all that have been happening lately have kinda put MooMoo's usual routine of life a bit upside down.  At one point of time, MooMoo felt she was going down wards in the spiral of darkness and if she just let go of everything, she would have just slipped and fall deeply to the endless pit.

MooMoo have been doing much thinking lately and she decided to do something about it.  MooMoo knows that if she does not take charge of her own life, she will be kept hostages in her life, as her life will take charge of her.  She just gotta make all the changes she needs whether she likes it or not.  All she got to do is just to make the very 1st step and start a new journey.

Changes is never easy and it usually makes people uncomfortable.  It requires a lot of perseverance, discipline, heart work and always ready to take risk in trying out things that you never do or experience before.  Not all things may turn out well but at least if it didn't turn out as expected, you have failed trying and not ended up regretting not doing anything at all.

MooMoo did something out of the norm last night.  MooMoo actually went to meet up with a friend's friend and followed her to join a Cell Group meeting with a bunch of strangers.  MooMoo felt that she should start working on her spiritual life and this time, she should be taking actions instead of just saying it over and over but never do anything about it.

At the beginning, MooMoo felt pretty uneasy as she's usually an introvert and anti-social by nature.  Hmmm... MooMoo knows that some may disagree to this but in actual fact, she is really an extreme introvert, except when being around with her close friends, whom she feels comfortable with.  Anyway, things were much better as everyone were very friendly to her.

MooMoo was not very used to the sharing sessions but she does learn some new things during the discussions in the cell group meeting.  Some of the things discussed actually gave her some interesting insights.  Well, guess everyone just got to be open and try to share more in order to learn more.  This reminds MooMoo of the saying... the more you give, the more you will receive.

During the cell group, the topic touched on "Accountability Partnership", which involves in a person whom you can count on to encourage each other, promote growth in you, actually invest time and energy to connect with you.  It is someone whom you can trust, be there for you and support you.  It will also be someone to help you be on track and to pray together and for each other.

This actually leads MooMoo thinking about things like "Never having enough time...".  We always hear people saying "I don't have time" or "I'm very busy" or "I'm not free" or "Time is not enough"... We are constantly drowning ourselves with lots of activities while we only have 24 hours per day and everyone in the world have the same amount of 24 hours, nothing more and nothing less.

Everyone is always busy prioritising their schedule instead of scheduling their priorities.  MooMoo thinks that telling people you do not have time for something or someone is just merely an excuse.  It all depends on whether that something or someone is of certain priority to you.  Sometimes, MooMoo is always guilty as charged.  We would really make time for certain thing or people if we really want to.

Imagine if you're a guy chasing after the girl of your dreams... would you actually tell the girl that you are not free or do not have time when she ask you out?!?  Haha.  But things may change when both got married.  Do you always find time for the things you love to do and always say you do not have time for the things you do not really like to do?!?  Guess it's all about choices and priorities.

Therefore, if you think that something or someone is important to you.... please make time!!! Do not wait till it's too late.  MooMoo really need to make time for God and prayers.  Hope that MooMoo will  commit to her choice and continue her journey no matter what challenges she encounters.  May God bless her and walk with her in this journey to grow her faith stronger each day.

May GOD bless everyone in great health and happiness... and bless my beloved brother in heaven.

* Looking forward to next week as Cutie Pie and parents coming over to visit MooMoo and celebrate her big day... ^=^

Gotta work with "HEART" and not only work "HARD"... :p

* Exercise is "HEART" work... MooMoo really need to put more effort in getting rid of all the extras that she have accumulated for the past few months... plus her running events are coming up next month and she haven't been running at all... GANBATTE!!!! ^=^
