Today MooMoo skipped her weekly routine run to go to mass at church coz it's "ASH WEDNESDAY". Well, you can go Wikipedia to get the full description of Ash Wednesday.
In summary, it is the 1st day of Lent and it is 46 days before Easter. It marks the starting of the penitential preparation of the believer through prayers, penance, repentance, almsgiving and self-denial. It's called Ash Wednesday as it got its name through the practise of applying the ashes to believer's foreheads in the shape of a cross as a symbolic sign of mourning and repentance to God. These ashes are made from the burnt palms that were blessed on the Palm Sunday of the previous year. Lent is a time when we stop and assess how we're doing in our walk with God. We mark ourselves with ashes as a "new beginning" at the onset of Lent, allowing the life of Jesus Christ to make us whole and new again.
It's just another opportunity to be a "BETTER" MooMoo this year. Ganbatte!!! ^=^

"Remember, you are dust, and to dust you will return." --- we are all created by God from dust and we will end up in dust when we leave the world...
